Our Process
We make the building process as simple and organized as possible from the very beginning. To get started, reach out to us to reserve a spot well in advance, and we’ll secure your place with a deposit. While we are not a design firm and require you to provide plans, we’re happy to refer trusted architects, designers, surveyors, and other professionals to help move the process forward.

Once we have your plans, we’ll provide an estimate and ask you to sign a contract based on that estimate. Throughout the build, we keep you updated on the budget and progress, ensuring you are always in the loop.
From start to finish, we guide you through every step of the project, providing regular updates through in-person meetings, phone calls, and email communication. Questions are always welcome—we’re here to make the process as smooth and transparent as possible, so you can feel confident every step of the way.
Company History
Hassler Custom Builders was founded in 1990 by Tom Hassler. Originally from Henniker, New Hampshire, Tom discovered his passion for building while working for a construction company early in his career. Inspired by the trade, he decided to start his own company and eventually moved to Scarborough, Maine with his wife, where they raised their family and established Hassler Custom Builders.

Tom specialized in extravagant custom kitchens, remodels, and precision work. Over more than 40 years in the industry, he earned a reputation for meticulous attention to detail and delivering projects to the highest standards. Throughout much of his early career, his son Matt often tagged along, learning the ins and outs of the trade firsthand.
In 2018, Matt took over the business, continuing the family legacy while adding his own vision. He now focuses on new construction, renovations, additions, and light excavation projects, maintaining the same high standards and hands-on approach that Hassler Custom Builders is known for.
